A passion born almost by chance

In 1945, he opened his first shop in the heart of the working-class neighborhood of Porte du Pin. At a time when coffee was still sold in bulk, by weight, he made the choice of exacting standards: selecting the best beans, roasting them slowly, monitoring the color, listening to the crackle, adjusting the temperature to the precise degree. Very quickly, the shop became a place to live. People come here for the coffee, but also for the morning greeting, the advice, that suspended moment when the bean passes from hand to hand.

Our commitments

Which we believe

Passion

It all started with a man who roasted his own coffee at home, purely for pleasure. This passion has remained our driving force: we don't make good coffee out of habit, but because we love it.

Respect for the gesture

Slow roasting, daily tasting, keeping a close eye on the color of the bean: our methods haven't changed, because they're the right ones. Time remains the best ally for flavor.

The French art of living

A shared coffee, a praline that evokes childhood memories, a tea that takes its time: we cultivate simple pleasures, those that bring people together and are passed down from table to table.

The transmission

From Monsieur Taillefer to the present day, we are preserving a legacy to pass on intact to those who will come after us. Ensuring the House endures is our greatest responsibility.
